Tasmania Trip

June 2, 2008 · No Comments

On the 26th of May we went to Tasmania for a school trip. We left on the Monday and got back on the Saturday. Well we were in tasmania we visited the Cadbury factory, Beaconsfield mine, Zoodoo national park, Cradle Mountain and many other places. We went  on the Spirit of Tasmania ship over and back from Tasmania. During the week we stayed at a Motel near Hobart. We also saw a movie, played mini golf and went Ten pin Bowling while we were over there.

My Favourite part of the trip was the Zoodoo National Park because we got to feed the emus, ostriches and camels. We also saw a few Tasmanian Devils.

Work Experience

May 22, 2008 · No Comments

For work experience i went to to Austins Plumbing and Gasfitting. We did some trenchdigging and some welding, got up on roofs and fitted pipes. We also installed a toilet, basin and some gas heaters. I did work experience for a week and it was really good. I liked being outdoors and travelling all different places. Plumbing is a great job and i really enjoyed it.

April 28, 2008 · 1 Comment

I don’t really have anything precious in my life that i can think of but one thing i use a lot and would miss if i didnt have one would be my (Aussie rules) football. I always go outside and kick the footy around because i enjoy doing it.

I am a sporty person and always use the footy, if i didnt have it i wouldnt know what to do to fill in my spare time.

Kirkstall

April 16, 2008 · No Comments

Kirkstall is a little place in the South-West Victoria, Australia where I live. It is close to Warrnambool, Koroit and Port Fairy. Kirkstall has a small playground next to the old run down Tennis Courts. There is also a pub in Kirkstall, it has great meals. Some lunch meals are only $6, what a bargain. There are probably between 100-200 people in Kirkstall if that. Kirkstall also has an Agriculture service that provided grain and super. Kirkstall is a great place for farms.

Why there was no school on Monday! On Monday the 10th of March there was no school because it was labour day in Victoria. The celebration of Labour Day has its origins in the eight hour day movement, which advocated eight hours for work, eight hours for recreation, and eight hours for rest. On 21 April 1856 Stonemasons and building workers on building sites around Melbourne, Australia, stopped work and marched from the University of Melbourne to Parliament House to achieve an eight hour day. Their direct action protest was a success, and they are noted as the first organized workers in the world to achieve an eight hour day with no loss of pay, which subsequently inspired the celebration of Labour Day and by May Day. All countries have labour day but we had it yesterday.

The best thing about living where I do!

The best thing about living where i do is we are in the country on a bit of land, there is no pollution and i have a lot of space to play sport. there isnt trains near so its not that loud and you can sleep easy without lots of noise. Also we live a few hundred metres from the pub. the pub has good meals.

Why my school is unique?

Our school is unique because we only have about 250-300 kids ranging from Prep to Year 12. It is in the country and some teachers can take it when kids annoy them, and dish it out.
